In this video, Dr. Dee reviews simple ergonomic changes that can help reduce low back stress while working from home. He explains that sitting on a couch, leaning over a laptop, or using a chair without support can flatten the natural low back curve and make the surrounding muscles work harder.
The video shows how to support the lumbar curve with a lumbar support or a rolled towel placed at the small of your back. Sit all the way back in the chair, keep the hips and knees near a 90-degree angle, and bring your workstation toward you so your eyes stay level and your spine stays supported. If low back discomfort continues, the First Choice Chiropractic team can evaluate whether an adjustment or specific stretches may help.
