In this video, Dr. Dee explains common reasons patients may feel numbness or tingling into the hand. He notes that symptoms in the whole hand, forearm, shoulder, or arm may come from the neck or thoracic outlet area rather than only the wrist.
He demonstrates stretches for the scalene muscles in the neck and a gentle nerve flossing exercise that can help the nerve move through its pathway. These movements should be controlled and should not be forced. If numbness, tingling, or arm symptoms do not improve with gentle home stretching, the First Choice Chiropractic team can evaluate whether joint restriction, inflammation, arthritis, or another issue may be contributing.
